“Well then, who are you?” they asked. “Are you Elijah?” “No,” he replied. “Are you the Prophet we are expecting?” “No.”  “Then who are you? We need an answer for those who sent us. What do you have to say about yourself?” John replied in the words of the prophet Isaiah: “I am a voice shouting in the wilderness, ‘Clear the way for the LORD’s coming!’” ---------» Gulped from John 1:21-23 This tells of how John was being mistaken for Christ and was asked to clarify. He made it known that he was God's messenger sent to pave way for the Lord's coming. A lot of us today forget what we are called/sent to do. We cling unto glory that is not ours and take credit for God's work without acknowledging Him. Some of people let self-pride overshadow them, become self-seeking and do little to honour our God. The new year should have you showing more humility and acknowledging Christ in your ways. Be a true vessel of God and do not forget what you are called to do. May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ help you do so, in Jesus' name...
